In a letter to the acting head of the Audit Bureau, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanallah demanded to immediately stop addressing oil companies regarding prior monitoring of their contracts.

Sanallah pledged that the monitoring process takes place without a legal text that allows the Audit Bureau to do so, adding that it has the subsequent monitoring in accordance with the terms of reference set by the law and not on its interpretation of the provision of the law that aimed at “expanding its specializations”.
