Libyan diplomatic sources have anticipated that the Turkish capital Ankara may well be the host of a planned meeting between the Head of the High Council of State Khaled Al-Mishri, and the Speaker of Parliament, Aqila Saleh.

The sources believe there is a consensus on the importance of narrowing the gap between the HCS and Parliament to bypass the bumpy road the electoral process is going through.

A senior Libyan diplomat said in a press interview that the international community does not yet have a clear vision on the post-December 24th phase.

He explained that the reason for postponing the first meeting of the political dialogue forum that was set for last Sunday is to provide more time for efforts to bring the two councils together.

According to the diplomat, Williams, backed by western powers, may bypass the Council and the House if they fail to reach a consensus, and therefore, the UN mission in Libya would take the lead as it did in the previous stage, which ended with a road map that produced the current executive authority.

Last Wednesday, Al-Mishri, revealed to Al-Jazeera several details about the new and surprising rapprochement between the Council and Parliament, including his planned meeting with Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh next week, without specifying the location of the meeting.
