The Deterrence Apparatus for fighting terrorism and organized crime arrested the former Head of the Libyan Post Telecommunications and Information Technology Company (LPTIC) Faisal Gergab over storming the office of the current Head of LPTIC at Al-Zawiya Street in Tripoli, breaking doors of the office and assaulting the employees.

The Apparatus said Gergab and Mohammed Hijazi, along with an armed group, stormed the office with the claim that they were executing a ruling in favor of Gergab, adding that the ruling hadn't been made yet by the judiciary.

The Apparatus said the armed group was arrested as well and they would all be referred to relevant authorities for legal measures.

The LPTIC, headed by Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, sacked Gergab and his board of directors, replacing them with a new board headed by Mohammed Ayad. This was rejected by Gergab, who went to court for action.

After weeks of deliberations, Tripoli court issued a preliminary ruling saying the commercial registry of the Gergab board was correct and that the new board hadn't issued a registry, which was used by Gergab to storm the office by force.
