The Officer-in-Charge of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Raisedon Zenenga, has stressed the need to bring the electoral process back on track as a top priority based on the demands of the 2.8 million Libyans who registered to vote.

This came during his meeting with a number of members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), during which they presented proposals to overcome the current stalemate and reach the elections, expressing their concern over the security situation resulting from the prolonged political stalemate.

Zenenga said that the UNSMIL will consider the proposals of the LPDF members along with proposals it received from other Libyan actors, praising their efforts in searching for alternatives to find a path for the elections.
